September 3, 2019 − September is recognized nationally as Recovery Month to honor the work being done to combat addiction and celebrate those who are in recovery from substance abuse disorder. In commemoration, the Pennsylvania Senate Democrats will host TEN open houses on addiction across the state.

At each of these events, attendees will have the ability to talk to recovery specialists, family counselors, experts from legal clinics, witness a Narcan demonstration, take home a safe prescription disposal bag, and much much more. Some of the many partners include:

  • PA Department of Human Services
  • PA Department of Insurance
  • PA Department of Drug & Alcohol Prevention
  • Pathways to Pardons
  • PA Department of Corrections
  • PA Attorney General
  • Neighborhood Legal Services
  • Community Legal Services
  • PA 211
  • Al Anon
  • Nar Anon
  • Alliance of Community Service providers
  • And dozens more!

These events are open to anyone (including press), and the caucus is hopeful that those fighting addiction and their families find the resources useful in the battle against addiction.
